Goliath, largest live poker tournament outside of Las Vegas returns to Coventry with estimated record prize pool.

A huge, estimated prize pool of £2 million will be up for grabs when the largest live Poker tournament outside of Las Vegas, Grosvenor Casinos Goliath, comes to Coventry this summer.

The annual event is held at Grosvenor Casino Coventry, located in the Coventry Building Society Arena, from Thursday 23 July to Sunday 2 August.

In 2025, the competition attracted a record-breaking 12,961 entries and has been hosted annually since 2011, bringing together thousands of players from across the UK and Europe.

The 11-day Poker festival includes 25 unique tournaments and cash games throughout, with buy-ins from £100 to £3,000.

This year marks a new chapter for the event as Grosvenor Casinos has partnered with the world’s biggest online Poker website, GGPoker.

The festival will kick off on 23 July with the ‘Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) Main Event’, which has a buy-in of £1,250 and will be running for four days. This event alone, has a £1 million guaranteed prize pool which will be shared by the top performing players.

From 25 July, attention will turn to the Grosvenor Casinos Goliath Main Event with a buy-in of £200. This event attracts players with varying skill levels, from amateurs to seasoned professionals, and has a history of amateurs winning top cash prizes.

Goliath has a rich history of turning casual and recreational players into Poker champions, with Milton Keynes amateur winning the title and winning £166,000 in 2024. Last year Liverpool pub Poker player Paul Worsley took home over £316,000, in a record-breaking field.

The Grosvenor Casinos Goliath Champion 2026 will be crowned at Coventry Building Society Arena on Sunday 2 August.

Grosvenor Casinos Goliath adds to a huge year of major events at Coventry Building Society Arena, with the venue having recently welcomed almost 100,000 people across three nights for Take That and the stadium preparing to welcome back Premier League football in August.
