Triple Award shortlisting for Coventry Building Society Arena

Coventry Building Society Arena has received national recognition for its excellence in catering, conferences and events after being shortlisted for three major industry awards.

The venue has been shortlisted for the Best Retail Catering Award at the Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards, Most Versatile Venue at The Conference & Events Awards and Venue of the Year (Less than 20,000sqm) at the AEO Excellence Awards.

The recognition reinforces the Arena’s position as one of the UK’s leading venues for business, sport and live entertainment.

Coventry Building Society Arena attracted more than 1.2 million visitors in 2025 and hosted 547 exhibitions, conferences, meetings, annual awards and dinners, and live events

The shortlisting comes during a landmark year for Coventry Building Society Arena as it celebrates 20 years since opening its doors and Coventry City Football Club completed its acquisition of the Arena.

This has brought the football club, stadium and events business under the same ownership for the first time since the venue was built.

The Best Retail Catering Award shortlisting recognises the Arena’s continued investment in enhancing its matchday food and drink offer.

It has been recognised for expanding its use of local suppliers, introducing new technology to improve speed of service and increasing choice for supporters across the stadium’s concourses and fan villages.

The shortlisting at The Conference & Events Awards for Most Versatile Venue highlights the Arena’s ability to host a wide range of conferences, exhibitions, live events and sport within one connected venue, including delivering simultaneous events at scale.

The Venue of the Year (Less than 20,000sqm) nomination at the AEO Excellence Awards highlights the Arena’s continued growth across business, sport and live entertainment, alongside its investment in customer experience, community engagement and its reputation as one of the UK’s leading multi-purpose venues.

Paul Michael, Managing Director at Coventry Building Society Arena, said: β€œThese are testament to the hard work, passion and commitment of our team over the last 12 months and everything they have achieved during what has been an incredibly busy year for the venue.

β€œIt is fantastic to see the progress we continued to make across all areas of the business as we celebrated our 20th years, from improving our retail catering and visitor experience to continuing to strengthen our events delivery and investing in our people.

β€œThis year has been one of real momentum and excitement and we remain focused on continuing to deliver the very best experiences for everyone who visits us, whether that is for football, conferences, exhibitions, live entertainment or community events.

β€œTo be recognised across three prestigious industry awards is a reflection of the ambition we have as a business and our desire to continue being recognised as one of the leading venues for business, sport and live events not only in the West Midlands, but across the UK.”

The winners of the Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards will be announced on Thursday 2 July, The Conference & Events Awards are held on Friday 26 June and AEO Excellence Awards will take place on Friday 12 June.
