Hundreds of Job Opportunities on Offer at Upcoming Coventry Jobs Fair this November

A major jobs fair will be held in Coventry to help people into work amid a continued fall in the number of vacancies in the UK.

Coventry Building Society, one of the city’s largest employers, will join around 20 other leading companies to promote a wide range of vacancies at the next Coventry Jobs Fair. The event, which is free to attend, will take place at Coventry Building Society Arena from 10am to 1pm on Friday, November 27.

The Fair comes after UK job vacancies fell between July and September to their lowest level outside the pandemic since 2014, according to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).*(1)

The latest ONS data also revealed that 1,712,000 people (4.7%) were unemployed across the UK between June and August.*(2) Forecasts published by the Office for Budget Responsibility alongside last month’s Budget suggest unemployment will rise further, peaking at 5.1% in spring 2027.

The Society’s recruitment team will be on hand, as headline exhibitors at the event, to talk through its current vacancies and what a career with the organisation involves.

Coventry City Council, Unison Coventry, WM Jobs and Coventry University are among the other organisations that have signed up, with more expected to register. Roles will range from entry level to senior management, and exhibitors will also offer advice on training, support services and career options.

Jobs fairs are held at the Arena every three months, often attracting as many as 700 jobseekers. As well as meeting employers face to face, visitors can pick up tips on improving their CV, preparing for interviews and building confidence.

Sean Heppinstall, Head of Operations at Job Fairs by The Bridge, which organises the event, said: “Having Coventry Building Society as our headline exhibitor feels fitting given where the fair is held. They’re one of the city’s best-known employers, and I know plenty of jobseekers will be keen to find out what opportunities they have.

“With more than 300 roles on offer and new exhibitors joining all the time, there’s something for everyone; whether they’re looking for their first job, returning to work or ready for a step up.”

Jenni Ford, Director of Sales and Marketing at Coventry Building Society Arena, said: “Welcoming our naming partner as headline exhibitor makes this fair a special one for us. For anyone unsure of their first or next step in employment, a visit to this Jobs Fair could be the start of something new.

“Hundreds of local people have started their careers with us over the years, and many have gone on to senior roles or into new industries, so we know how much a first opportunity close to home can mean.”
