Engineering Design Show to unveil exciting new conference programme and features at Coventry Building Society Arena

The UK’s largest design engineering trade show will unveil a brand-new conference programme and a series of new features as part of an exciting makeover when it returns to Coventry.

More than 4,500 professionals and 200 innovative exhibitors are expected to attend the Engineering Design Show at Coventry Building Society Arena on October 7 and 8.

The show is entering a new era with a sharper identity built around the core disciplines of embedded design, electronic design and mechanical design. Design engineers and decision makers, from ambitious start-ups to global manufacturers, will be able to actively search for the embedded, electronic and mechanical design products, technologies and expertise to suit their business needs.

In a Show first, attendees will be able to sign up to any one of five complimentary themed Tech Tours built around a specific engineering challenge. The tours will guide visitors through a curated selection of exhibitors showcasing the products, technologies and expertise helping engineers to solve each challenge, whether in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design, Power & Connectivity, Medical Device Design, Test & Measurement and Design for Manufacture.

The event will boast a new conference programme developed with guidance from a newly-appointed Advisory Board that brings together senior leaders from the Automotive, Aerospace, Defence and Medical sectors.

Featuring five specialist conference streams and more than 50 deep dive workshops and sessions, the programme will explore the best practice, technologies and innovations shaping the future of UK design engineering.

Sam Wibrew, Senior Conference Producer, said: "I’m genuinely excited about what we’ve put together for the EDS this year. This year’s programme is all about celebrating the best of British design engineering while tackling the tough, everyday challenges our industry faces.

“With the support of our incredible new Advisory Board, we’ve shifted the focus squarely onto practical engineering in the real world.

“Rather than just talking about high-level trends, both days will be packed with honest lessons, cutting-edge UK innovation and practical strategies that delegates can apply directly to their own projects from day one.”

Headline sponsors Solsta, party sponsors Azego, and Abracon are among the leading companies due to exhibit, while Airbus, IBM Royce, F1, Siemens, Lotus Cars and LOLA Cars are in the conference programme at the Show which will house a new ‘Meet the Buyer’ Area, hosted by Kimtech, designed to encourage and facilitate more commercial deals.

Jenni Ford, Director of Sales and Marketing at Coventry Building Society Arena, said: “The Engineering Design Show is a major event for the UK’s design engineering community and it’s exciting to see the Show evolving this year with a host of new features and an expanded conference programme.

“With thousands of professionals and hundreds of exhibitors coming together under one roof, it provides a fantastic opportunity to discover new technologies and expertise, share knowledge and make valuable connections.

“We’re delighted to welcome the Engineering Design Show back to Coventry Building Society Arena and look forward to seeing the industry come together here again in October.” To register for free tickets to the Show, visit www.engineeringdesignshow.co.uk
