About the Role

Coventry Building Society Arena is seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Director to lead and oversee the day-to-day operational delivery of one of the UK’s most iconic multi-purpose venues. This is a pivotal leadership role, ensuring the arena remains operationally ready, safe, and capable of delivering world-class experiences for fans, visitors, and event clients.

As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will manage cross-functional operational teams, drive service excellence, and ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation and industry standards. You will also play a strategic role in shaping the arena’s future, ensuring it remains fit for purpose and aligned with evolving commercial, legislative, and sustainability demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all operational functions across the arena, including facilities, safety, security, and event delivery.

  • Ensure the venue meets the highest standards of safety, maintenance, and customer experience.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including Coventry City Football Club (CCFC), Coventry City Council, the Safety Advisory Group, and other regulatory bodies.

  • Oversee the planning and execution of major events, ensuring seamless coordination and operational excellence.

  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation across operational processes.

  • Support the commercial success of the arena through strategic planning and operational adaptability.

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental legislation and best practices.
