Warhammer fans to flock to Ricoh Arena

Fans of the world’s most popular table top strategy game will flock to Coventry this weekend for an annual celebration of all things Warhammer.

Warhammer Fest UK 2019 is organised by Games Workshop, the largest and the most successful hobby miniatures company in the world. The event is returning to the Ricoh Arena on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May, giving thousands of people the chance to immerse themselves in the worlds of Warhammer.

They’ll enjoy seminars, previews and a chance to meet personalities from the Warhammer community, including model designers, painters, game designers and writers.

There will also be an opportunity for keen gamers to put their skills to the test in a range of competitive Warhammer tournaments. These will get underway on Saturday 11 May, with friendly matches for more casual players taking place on the following day.

The event will also play host to the prestigious Golden Demon painting competition. Painters will be going head-to-head in a competition which has been running since the 1980s, providing an opportunity for Warhammer enthusiasts to see some of the best-painted models in the world.

Caroline Lissaman, Head of Event Management at Ricoh Arena, added: “Warhammer Fest attracts people from across the country and is an event we have seen grow year-after-year, reflecting the popularity of Warhammer and the general gaming sector in the UK.

“It’s an exciting sector to be operating in and Ricoh Arena is leading the industry curve in hosting these events and helping them to consistently grow.

“We have Wi-Fi that is 270 times faster than the average home, enabling thousands of players and enthusiasts to stream content simultaneously across the globe, and we also boast more than 6,000 square metres of space so that we can grow the show’s floor space on a yearly basis.”
