Showcasing the Future: Unveiling Next-Generation Medical Devices at Medical Technology UK 2024

The latest innovations in the design and development of medical devices will be showcased at a sector-leading medical technology event at Coventry Building Society Arena.

Medical Technology UK is set to attract more than 130 specialist exhibitors across two days, representing all tiers of the medical device manufacturing supply chain.

It will be held on Wednesday, March 13 and Thursday, March 14 and is the sister event to the highly-regarded Medical Technology Ireland.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a learning programme, designed to inform, educate, and inspire the process of bringing new medical devices to market more efficiently and effectively.

Renowned figures such as Professor Tony Young, National Clinical Lead for Innovation at NHS England, will chair and present a conference session on the "Future of Medical Technology Innovation" on Wednesday, March 13.

Joining Professor Young are esteemed professionals including Elspeth Bailey, Senior Policy Adviser at the Office for Life Sciences, Michelle Sullivan, Head of Public Affairs, EMEA at Boston Scientific, and John Connah, Team Lead - Software at eg technology.

Professor Philip Breedon, from Nottingham Trent University, will be hosting a session titled ‘Disruptive Innovators in Medtech’. The sessions will discuss innovation in medical device design.

The event will also see the return of the Women in MedTech Forum. This year the forum will be chaired by Dr. Helen Meese, CEO and Founder of the Care Machine. It will feature prominent speakers sharing their career journeys and initiatives.

The event is supported by key industry partners like the GTMA, a UK-based trade association providing engineering supply chain solutions in the medical device and wider healthcare manufacturing sectors.

Delegates will range from medical device manufacturers, major OEMs, and contract manufacturers, to start-ups, SMEs and university spinouts.

Colin Martin, Event Director for Medical Technology UK, said: “This event has an important role in supporting the entire medical technology sector. It caters to the diverse needs of the UK's medical device manufacturing industry, which ranks as the third largest in Europe.

“We are supporting all areas of the sector, from university spin-outs to multinational corporations. The event fosters collaboration and innovation.

“Coventry Building Society Arena provides excellent facilities, including on-site hotel accommodation, bars, dining options, and fully paid-for parking for all exhibitors and visitors.

“We are delighted to be returning for a third year.”

It is the third time that the exhibition and conference has been hosted at Coventry Building Society Arena, with its first event being held in 2022.
