Ricoh set for Monster Jam

Monster Jam finally arrives at Ricoh Arena this Saturday, with 15,000 people set to enjoy an afternoon of giant trucks doing battle in championship racing and gravity-defying freestyle competitions in the stadium bowl.

It promises to be an unforgettable afternoon in Coventry as thrill-seekers are treated to the first ever motorsport event at Ricoh Arena.

Over 3,000 tickets have also been sold for the Pit Party taking place in car park B from 10.30am-1pm where families can get up close to the trucks and speak with some of the world’s leading stunt drivers before the show.

And with a further walk-up expected on the day, people are being urged to arrive as early as possible ahead of the turnstiles opening at 1pm. The event itself gets underway at 3pm and is set to finish at around 5pm.

Justine Hewitt, Head of Operations at Ricoh Arena, said: “Having Monster Jam here is a Ricoh Arena first so we are really excited to see the stadium bowl transformed in a way that we’ve never seen before.

“Being the first of its kind at The Ricoh, with over 15,000 tickets sold for a capacity of 20,000, it just shows how popular these events are with families, and by the end of the week we will have had nearly 100,000 people through our turnstiles from Monster Jam and the two Spice Girls concerts.

“It’s been one of the busiest weeks we’ve ever had operationally, as the load-in for Monster Jam actually overlapped with the load-out for the Spice Girls, and has involved transporting in more than 3,000m3 of dirt for the track.

“We’d urge people to arrive early for this event so they can get to their seat swiftly and soak up what is set to be a unique atmosphere.”

Monster Jam tickets can still be purchased via www.ricoharena.com and collecting from the Ricoh Arena Ticket Office on the day.

On-site car parking can be booked at www.ricoharena.com while off-site car parking can be booked at www.ricoharenaparking.co.uk.
