Family Zone Makeover Showcases this seasons Kit Competition Winners

Coventry City FC’s Family Zone at Coventry Building Society Arena has had a makeover thanks to youngsters from across the city.

Hundreds of school children recently took part in a competition set up by Coventry Building Society Arena, in partnership with Sky Blues in the Community (SBitC) to design their own version of Coventry City FC’s new kit.

The winners of the competition were invited to the Arena for an exclusive guided tour of Coventry Building Society Arena last week as the stadium prepared for the first home league fixture of the season.

A winning design was selected from each primary school year group, with their designs now adorning the walls inside the Family Zone between blocks 31 and 34 for the duration of the 2025/26 season.

Winners included Dollie (Grangehurst Primary); Mifra (Whitmore Park Primary); James (Ernesford Grange Primary); Aria (Our Lady of Assumption); Annie (Christ The King Primary); Adela (Grangehurst Primary) and Tiana (Hearsall Community Academy).

Each winner also received a family matchday ticket voucher for a Coventry City home game, CCFC goody bag, a feature in a matchday programme, and a £20 national book token.

Sami Turgeon, Marketing and Communications Co-Ordinator at Sky Blues in the Community, said: “Being in a creative role myself, I find it heart-warming to see so many children and schools getting involved in competitions like this.

“Seeing how much it meant to the winners when they came in for their stadium tour prize and them seeing their designs displayed in the concourse was lovely.

“I could only have dreamt of opportunities like these when I was younger. Well done to all our winners - and keep being creative, innovative and inspiring!”

Mark O’Shea is the Catering and Experience Director at Coventry Building Society Arena, and delivers many of the popular Arena tours.

He added: “The Arena, Coventry City and Sky Blues in the Community share the same passion for giving back to the local community - including nurturing the next generation of supporters - and after the success of last year’s kit design competition we were delighted to be given the chance to partner with SBITC again this year.

“Seeing the winners’ faces during the Arena tour really hit home why we do our community outreach – they were inquisitive and mesmerised throughout – and hopefully we have created some fans for life!”
