Glitz & Glamour Ball Returns to Coventry Building Society Arena!

One of Coventry’s biggest fundraising events is set to raise thousands of pounds to support the creation of a new therapy centre for abused children in the city.

Coventry and Warwickshire Children’s Charity will be hosting its Glitz & Glamour Ball at Coventry Building Society Arena on Friday, September 22.

The event is now in its 18th year and has raised more than £1.1 million during that time, contributing to the charity’s overall fundraising of £3.2 million since 1996.

This year all funds raised will be used to support a new therapy centre for abused children in Coventry which the charity is in the process of setting up.

The Glitz & Glamour Ball regularly attracts more than 500 guests, with businesses from across Coventry and Warwickshire encouraged to attend and help support the most vulnerable children and young people in the region that have been affected by abuse.

On the evening there will be entertainment, live music and a range of fundraising ideas to help support therapy provision in Coventry and Warwickshire.

It will see a silent auction throughout the night and a diamond challenge, where guests can buy boxes and lucky guests will find a message inside a box saying they have won a piece of diamond jewellery.

The popular live auction is also set to return, with coveted items including signed memorabilia and tickets to some of the country’s top experiences, sport and entertainment.

This year’s event is being sponsored by Jaguar Land Rover and social media platform Ur Point.

Hamilton Bland, trustee for the Coventry and Warwickshire Children’s Charity and organiser of the Glitz & Glamour Ball, said: “Businesses in Coventry and Warwickshire have been supporting this event for nearly two decades and it continues to be one of the biggest and best annual fundraising events that is held in the region.

“The ball last year was a great success and demonstrated the overwhelming empathy and support of the local community for our charity and the work that we do in supporting children who have suffered abuse.

“We would like to thank our sponsors for supporting us again this year and we’re looking forward to another magnificent event.”

Lee Thomas, managing director and founder of Aesthetics Events, is a regular guest at the ball.

She said: “I have supported Coventry and Warwickshire’s most celebrated event for the last 15 years. Every guest I take has thoroughly enjoyed attending, saying it was great fun, with incredible entertainment whilst also raising funds for a very worthwhile cause.

“Many business relationships have strengthened by attending this events, including the CEO of the Commonwealth Games, Business Woman of the Year and many other high-profile clients.

“It’s not only an opportunity to network or reward your teams by giving them an opportunity to dress up, let their hair down and have fun, but it’s also a great way to ensure local children suffering abuse are supported and not forgotten.”

Jenni Ford, Director of Sales and Marketing at Coventry Building Society Arena, added: “We are proud to continue to support what is a truly incredible fundraising event. The event is always one of the highlights of the year at the venue and we look forward to welcoming it back again for an 18th year.”

The Glitz & Glamour Ball will also include a champagne reception, three-course meal and dancing until late. Sponsorship packages for businesses are still available.
