Big deal as Coventry Building Society Arena hosts supersized trading card show for the first time
Thousands of Pokémon cards and rare collectables will be up for grabs when one of the UK’s biggest one-day trading card shows comes to Coventry for the very first time.
Cardmania XL will bring more than 300 of the country’s biggest trading card vendors under one roof at Coventry Building Society Arena.
This super-sized edition of Cardmania will be one of the organiser’s biggest ever one-day shows and will take place from 9.30am to 4pm on Saturday, November 7.
Visitors will be able to buy, sell and trade Pokémon and other popular Trading Card Games (TCGs), with everything from affordable first cards to rare and sought-after finds, and have their cards professionally graded on the day.
The family-friendly event is designed for hobbyists at all stages of their collection journeys. First-timers can pick up advice from experienced vendors, while parents who collected as children can share the experience with their own families.
The show’s Trading Zone will give visitors a unique chance to find the missing card they've long been searching for and there will be an opportunity to win graded cards, single hits, official merchandise and more with a spin of the Cardmania Wheel.
There will also be cosplay – encouraging visitors to dress up in detailed outfits and accessories to represent a specific fictional character - photo moments, plushies, collectibles stalls and free face painting.
Jak Blane, Co-Founder of Cardmania, said: “Cardmania shows are a great way for collectors to meet new people with a shared passion for collecting and to land some incredible finds. Our shows create unique experiences for every kind of trading card fan and also offer a great opportunity for vendors.
“So many vendors want to be part of our events which is why we’ve super-sized our very first Cardmania in Coventry. We’re delighted to be bringing the show to a top-class venue of the size and scale of Coventry Building Society Arena, enabling us to bring more vendors and collectors together than ever before.
“Coventry is right in the middle of the country, making it easy to access for vendors and traders alike, so we’re expecting a bumper turnout at Cardmania XL.”
Jenni Ford, Director of Sales and Marketing at Coventry Building Society Arena, said: “Trading cards have a huge following, from young children buying their first pack to collectors who have been at it for decades, and Cardmania XL brings all of them together.
“Our central location is one of the main reasons organisers choose us, and our impressive exhibition hall gives an event of this size room to grow. We’re looking forward to welcoming Cardmania and thousands of collectors to Coventry.”
