BRYN WILLIAMS DEVELOPS 'AN EVENING WITH..' MENU

CELEBRITY CHEF, BRYN WILLIAMS

Guests attending An Evening With Marianne Faithfull at the Ricoh Arena on 11 December, will be given the royal treatment with a three-course fine-dining experience with a menu developed by a chef who cooked for the Queen.

Bryn Williams shot to fame on the BBC culinary TV show Great British Menu, where he beat off stiff competition to cook the fish course for the Queen’s 80th birthday celebrations.

Before that, the culinary whizz had already made a name for himself as head chef and sole proprietor of Odette's Restaurant in Primrose Hill, London, in one of the most sought-after areas of the capital.

In June, he opened his new bistro, Bryn Williams at Porth Eirias, on the seashore in the north Wales town of Colwyn Bay.

Bryn has now developed a fine dining menu for guests attending An Evening with Marianne Faithfull in the E.ON Lounge at the Ricoh Arena on Friday, December 11 from 7pm.

Before his meteoric rise to fame, he trained for three years at Marco Pierre White at the Criterion Restaurant in London and under the tutelage of culinary legend, Michel Roux Jr, at the Michelin-starred Le Gavroche Restaurant in the capital for a further three years before working at two Michelin-starred restaurant Hotel Negresco in Nice, France.

After returning to Britain, Bryn moved to the Michelin-starred Orrery Restaurant on Marylebone High Street in London.

For his dinner engagement at the Ricoh Arena, Bryn has developed a sumptuous three-course menu and tasting notes to accompany it.

His menu will be complemented by premium wines selected to complement the cuisine. The wines will be provided by Majestic Wine, a key partner of the Ricoh Arena.

Following this gastronomic experience, singer, songwriter, actress and 1960s rock and pop icon Marianne Faithfull will perform an intimate gig.

Andy Gibb, managing director at the Ricoh Arena, said the combination of world-class cuisine, wines and Marianne Faithfull’s special performance promises a wonderful evening.

He said: “Bryn has developed a reputation as one of the UK’s brightest young chefs and guests are going to be treated to fantastic food and entertainment at the first of our An Evening With series.

“To have overcome competition from established chefs to cook the fish dish at the Queen’s 80th birthday celebrations emphasises his pedigree.

“Bryn has developed the menu himself and has worked with our kitchen staff to make sure everything is to the highest standard.

“He is widely regarded as one of Wales’ best chefs and after working in some of the most prestigious kitchens in London, I am sure his love of cooking will make sure the An Evening With Marianne Faithfull has the perfect start before Marianne takes to the stage.”

Tickets to An Evening With Marianne Faithfull are on sale from www.ricoharena.com or by calling 024 7678 6411 priced at £100 and £125.
