Comedian and musician Bill Bailey will be coming to Coventry next month as he headlines Coventry Building Society Arena.

The countdown is on to his show on Friday, November 13, which forms part of a major UK and Ireland arena tour.

His new show Vaudevillean, which will be held in the Indoor Arena at the venue, is set to take the audience back to the golden age of entertainment with Bill’s unique take on vaudeville.

The show celebrates that tradition and showcases the multi-instrumental, multi-lingual humour and musical talent that have made Bailey a household name.

The 2020 Strictly Come Dancing winner has promised fans an evening of enthralling fun that will transport them far from the everyday and into a world of laughter, melody and marvel.

Bailey started out in stand-up, winning a Time Out award in 1995 before being nominated for the Perrier Comedy Award for his Edinburgh Fringe show a year later.

His Best Live Stand-Up win at the 1999 British Comedy Awards paved the way for prime-time TV, with regular appearances on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Have I Got News for You and QI, as well as his own programme, Is It Bill Bailey?

His performance at Coventry Building Society Arena is part of the venue’s growing live events programme. That programme is set to grow further following the Arena’s 10-year partnership with Legends Global, announced in August and backed by more than £15 million of joint investment over three years.

The Arena is looking to attract more big-name comedy after hosting Liverpool comedian Paul Smith for four shows in 2025, and Jack Whitehall is due to perform there in January.

Jenni Ford, Director of Sales and Marketing at Coventry Building Society Arena, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming one of the biggest names in UK comedy to our Arena next month.

“Bill Bailey has been on our screens for more than 25 years and this is a chance for people in Coventry and across the region to see him live.

“Our venue is incredibly versatile. We can go from a Coventry City matchday in the stadium to a comedy night in the Indoor Arena, and that’s what makes us a destination for audiences all year round.” Tickets are available from www.eticketing.co.uk/cbsarena/Events and www.ticketmaster.co.uk.
