Team Spotlight: Lee McCabe Building Community On and Off the Pitch

We’re shining a spotlight on members of our team that do incredible work as volunteers in the local community throughout the year.

You may recognise Lee McCabe, Bars Manager, from our excellent hospitality team. But away from Coventry Building Society Arena he is the Chairman and U12s Manager of Meriden Lions Football Club!

As Chairman, he is committed to keeping the club running smoothly, growing and staying true to its family-friendly spirit. He juggles everything from paperwork and pitch booking, to last minute “I’ve forgotten my boots” emergencies!

He doubles up as manager of the U12’s team and supports the continue development of the players, not just in their football ability, but in their confidence and teamwork skills too.

🗣️ Meriden Lions: “Whether he’s on the touchline cheering, encouraging, or diplomatically interpreting questionable refereeing decisions, Lee is dedicated to helping the team grow and enjoy their football journey.

“Above all, he believes Meriden Lions is more than a football club, it’s a community. And being part of that, both as Chairman and U12s Manager, is something he’s genuinely proud of… even if it does occasionally involve washing bibs at 10pm.”
