The National Painting and Decorating Show has been held at the Indoor Arena at the newly-named Coventry Building Society Arena since 2004 – and is set to return for its 17th show on November 23 and 24.
The last time the show was held at the Arena it attracted more than 3,500 industry visitors and over 100 exhibitors from across the globe.
It held a virtual event last year but returns to a physical show for 2021, with major international suppliers including Dulux and Crown set to be in attendance.
Terry Dullaway, event organiser for the National Painting and Decorating Show, says he is delighted by the latest and ongoing developments at Coventry Building Society Arena and looks forward to continuing to grow his show at the venue.
“It’s fantastic for us to be back at the Arena this year, after a year away which was out of our control,” said Terry.
“This year will be slightly different, with the need to make alterations to the hall space to allow for social distancing – but we’re very excited about the future and being able to continue to grow our show here.
“The painting and decorating industry have fared extremely well during the pandemic. With people spending more time at home. There has been a greater demand for tradespeople to support home improvements, which has led to the growing demand for decorating materials.
“Contractors have been busy working at commercial and domestic premises, with the increase in business resulting in pressures to satisfy demand.
“Our show is an innovations event and centres around demonstrations and masterclass areas to showcase the latest technology in painting and decorating. Spray painting technology has come on leaps and bounds and is now more accessible, while there has been a real improvement in sophisticated coatings technology.
“We see real potential for growth at Coventry Building Society Arena, which will be strengthened by the refurbishment of the Indoor Arena, the planned pavilion entrance and convention centre and proposed extra hotel space on site.”
Paul Michael, Commercial Director at Coventry Building Society Arena, added: “This is a great example of how we have been able to support the growth of a show over a number of years and how our latest developments will be able to facilitate further growth of that event.
“The National Painting and Decorating Show has been one of our flagship trade shows since joining us 17 years ago.
“It’s fantastic to hear organisers excited about the future of our venue and what we will be able to support them with over the coming years.”
