WASPS GEARING UP FOR AN IRISH INFLUX IN OUR JAGUAR EXHIBITION HALL

Wasps have today announced it has sold over 15,000 tickets for the Club’s massive European Rugby Champions Cup game at the Ricoh Arena against Leinster in nine days’ time. With a significant Irish contingent having already bought tickets, as well as thousands of Wasps fans, the Club is hoping to create a festival atmosphere in the Ricoh Arena’s Jaguar Exhibition Hall and have booked a number of local live bands, performers and attractions.

Bands including the Anthemics, a party covers bands from the Midlands, and the Amazing Apples, an Irish rock-folk band from Galway, who have played festivals including Oxygen and The Electric Picnic, will perform throughout the day at the Ricoh Arena’s Jaguar Exhibition Hall.

All Wasps supporters will be invited to take part in a pre-match "Allez Off" between the East Stand and West Stand, with supporters joining forces to encourage the squad through the Club's ‘Allez, Allez, Allez’ chant.

Wasps will also show the other crucial European Rugby Champions Cup games on big screens. Doors will open at 10.30am and stay open until late evening. Admission to the Jaguar Exhibition Hall will also be free to sports fans who haven’t attended the match, following the final whistle at 3pm.

Demand for match tickets and hospitality has been high for the European game at the Ricoh since going on sale just before Christmas. Ticket availability for category 1 and 2 in the West and East stands is limited, but tickets are still available in categories 3 and 4 in the stadium. Tickets for Wasps match are available from just £15. Entrance for under ten-year-olds is free if accompanied by a paying adult.

Nick Eastwood, Wasps CEO, commented:

“Rugby has a huge following in Ireland, so we’re expecting a lot of Leinster fans to make the trip over from Dublin, as well as many Irish rugby fans from the local area and London. The last time Wasps played a European game against Irish opposition at the Ricoh Arena it was a great occasion and we expect the same next Saturday. With two fiercely competitive teams going toe-to-toe the result really could go either way. Doors open at 1030am, so one thing’s for sure – we expect to sell a lot of the black stuff!”
