MORE UK COMPANIES LINE UP FOR IMAGINEERING FAIR

Date: 1 Oct 2014

YOUNG ENGINEERS OF TOMORROW

The forthcoming IMAGINEERING FAIR, designed to inspire the young engineers of tomorrow, is attracting some of the UK’s most prestigious organisations. Sponsored by Jaguar Land Rover, the two-day fun family event takes place in the Jaguar Exhibition Hall, Ricoh Arena in Coventry from 8-9 November 2014.

Over 30 organisations have already confirmed their attendance and the line-up includes Jaguar Land Rover, National Grid, Caterpillar, Cummins, Fanuc Robotics, GE Aviation, Severn Trent, the Manufacturing Technology Centre, the MAD Museum, Rotec Engineering, Coventry University and the University of Warwick.

The inter-active event, aimed at children of all ages and abilities, features scores of engineering and technology activities designed by the participating organisations. These range from the fantastic machines from the latest sign-up, the Rowland Emett Society, and the inspiring Meccano models by Michael Denny, to getting hands-on with the Land Rover 4x4 in Schools Technology Challenge, competing with a basketball-playing robot, model-making challenges, computer games – and even making serious paper aeroplanes!

Bob Shanks, Chairman of the Imagineering Fair, said: “We have a fantastic line-up of companies, all with the same aim of inspiring the much needed-engineers of tomorrow. This is a marvellous day out for all the family, but especially for children, who can learn at first-hand about modern technology and talk to young engineers about their careers. There is so much for youngsters to do that we have arranged for tickets to be valid for both days – so they do not miss out on any of the fun activities!”

The Imagineering Fair, supported by the Ricoh Arena, is organised by the Imagineering Foundation, an education charity providing fun, hands-on engineering and technology activities and rewarding personal engagement for young people, working with manufacturers, utilities, engineering organisations and educational centres to inspire the engineers of the future.

The popular two-day show is open on Saturday 8 November 8 from 9.00-5.00pm and Sunday 9 November from 9.00-4.00pm. Tickets are valid for both days and available through The Ticket Factory at www.theticketfactory.com or by ringing 0844 338 8000.
