Wasps Holdings Limited - Modern Slavery Statement

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Wasps Holdings Limited modern slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ended 30th June 2020.

At Wasps Holdings we are very clear in our belief and practice against the unacceptable face of forced and compulsory labour, child labour and human trafficking. We are committed to implementing policies that aim to prevent this across our business and, to the best of our ability, within any supply chains that support us.

 

What we do as an organisation:

Wasps Holdings Limited conducts its business in the following areas;

  • The Coventry Building Society Arena, which is a multi-faceted entertainment venue which encompasses conferences and events, music events, an on-site internationally branded hotel and 32,000 seated stadium. Examples of major events include, for example, the Commonwealth Games and the Rugby League World Cup.
  • The venue also has tenanted space which includes a Grosvenor Casino and other blue chip tenants.
  • Wasps Rugby Men’s, an elite Rugby Union team which plays in the Gallagher Premiership
  • Wasps Netball, an elite netball team that plays in the Vitality Netball League
  • Wasps Rugby Ladies, an elite female rugby team that plays in the RFU Allianz Premier 15’s League

The Group makes a public commitment to act ethically and with integrity in its business relationships and to adopt responsible business practices. The Group has no tolerance to any form of modern slavery or human trafficking and is committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in its supply chains or in any part of its business.

The Group expects, and endeavours to ensure, that organisations within its supply chains also have no tolerance to any form of modern slavery and human trafficking and adopt responsible business practices in respect of reducing the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking. The Group expects these organisations to have suitable policies and practices in this area.

We look for our supply chains to provide products that meet, where possible, ethical standards of supply and sustainably certified food ingredient products that are principally UK or EU sourced. We are of the opinion our supply chain is compliant in these matters. 

It is expected that our suppliers are able to provide details of their own policies supporting their statements and, as a minimum, meet national laws and include human rights principles regarding child labour or bonded or forced labour where documents are withheld, payment of fair wages and payment in money, not kind. 

In general, Wasps Holdings considers its exposure to slavery/human trafficking to be limited. However, specific attention is given to labour and supply chain partners.

The Company has not, to its specific knowledge, conducted any business with another organisation which has been found to have involved itself with modern slavery.
